Prep Time 5 min Cook Time 15 min Ready Time 20 min Servings:

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Miso paste
  • 1/4 cup Dried shrimp

Directions

Everybody knows that miso soup is basically miso and water.  The biggest question most people have is how much miso and how much water. Start with the dried shrimp in the water and bring to a boil for 3-5 minutes, then add the miso until completely dissolved; simmer for an additional 5 minutes or so and add your tofu and/or green onions. Follow this basic recipe and you can always add,  tofu (cut into 1" cubes,  as an option), as well as green onion cut into 1/4" lengths.
