Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce/shoyu
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 clove garlic or 1 tsp chopped garlic

Directions

Combine the four ingredients to make a basic teriyaki sauce/marinade.

Marinade beef/pork/chicken of your choice for a minimum of 2-3 hours or as long as overnight, in the refrigerator, turning frequently.  (I use a gallon size zip loc bag.)

For a variation in flavor, you can also add:

2 Tbsp of oyster sauce, for a slight Chinese touch;   or

1 tsp of sesame oil, for a hint of Korean flavor.
