Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup shoyu
  • 1/4 cup corn oil, or vegetable oil if you don't have corn oil
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Grated Ginger

Directions

No recipe collection from Hawaii would be complete without a recipe for shoyu chicken.  As you may have already surmised, I’m really big on simple recipes, but simple does not mean flavorless!

This is another such recipe.  Only five ingredients, but still full of flavor you would expect from a shoyu chicken recipe.

This recipe makes 8 chicken thighs.   Oven temp: 325F.

Mix all the ingredients together, place chicken thighs in a pan, pour sauce over chicken and bake…turning a couple times during the baking period.  Skim fat and serve sauce with chicken, if desired.(For a deeper flavor, you can marinade the chicken for an hour or two prior to baking.)

It seems to be working properly when I open it, but that’s on my laptop. There could be issues if you’re using a mobile app.
